Mikrogeophagus Ramirezi

 




This fish endemic to the Orinoco River basin, in the savannahs of Venezuela and Colombia in south America. George Sprague Myers and R.R harry in 1948 originally described the species as Apistogramma Ramirezi.

Practical Fish Keeping

Simply u need a minimum 1.5/1/1 ft. Aquarium for a pair of Ram Cichlid. A group of 5-7 Ram can live in a 2.5/1.5/1.5 ft. Aquarium with some tetra/Cory cats/  cherry Barbs/Minnows . Densely planted or semi planted Aquarium will be a good option. Also they are good in Black water tanks. Lots of woods / hiding places required in the aquarium. Tank mates are should be non-aggressive fishes and small in size.

verity- There are verity of Oscar species now in fish hobby like Thai silk ram, Golden ram, Balloon or Short body verity.
