Aquarium Size Matters-  Tank size is the most important in this hobby. Make a tank as large as u can. Larger the tank means stable water parameter and low mortality rate of fishes. Make the tank with Perfect Thickness of glass as per tank size. For a example a single Silver Arowana need a minimum 6 ft. length and 2 ft. width to survive. and a Betta fish needs a minimum 1 ft. cube to survive happily. Its better to give every fish species more than enough space for a long life span. Some Data given bellow to understand tank size glass thickness species.

Nitrogen Cycle - Most important things of fish keeping is u need a stable water parameter for your pets. For that nitrogen cycle is very very important. Now, what is nitrogen cycle ? - Its a biochemical process by which nitrogen converted into multiple chemical forms in its ecosystem. Process include Fixation, Ammonification, Nitrification & DE nitrification. Now , Why the System is important for your tank? - In a aquarium its a biochemical cascade that involves the continual chemical degradation of nitrogenous compound from ammonia to nitrite to nitrate. The final nitrate can taken up by Aquarium plants or can be removed by water changes. In a living aquarium this cascade is established over time. its usually takes up to months on a optimum condition before a new aquarium system can fully converted its waste into nitrate. Toxic Elements - Fish wastes and proteins of a aquarium system immediately converted by bacteria into ammonia. its a pungent colorless gas and highly toxic for fishes. The another one is Nitrites. Its the most common killers of aquarium fish. Nitrates occur in the aquarium through the partial oxidation of ammonium ions. During this stage Nitrosomonas & Nitrospira species of bacteria multiplied enough to oxidized the ammonia. Nitrite level 1 mg/L can be lethal for fish. now the final compound is Nitrate ; in the last stage of the cycle Nitrobacter bacteria convert the Nitrite into Nitrates. Nitrate is not toxic to fish at low to moderate levels. Routine partial water change will keep the Nitrate levels within the safe range. The role of Bacteria- A healthy balanced aquarium depends on beneficial bacteria to break down fish waste, dead plant material, other organic debris to keep the water crystal clear and prevent toxic ammonia and nitrite from accumulating. These bacteria live in the filter media and on solid surfaces in the aquarium. Optimum Condition for Bacteria - Beneficial bacteria can produce faster in the tank when the water is warm. optimum temperature 85 F- 90 F temperature. Just like your fish, beneficial bacteria need oxygen to survive in the fish tank. This is why high filtration flow will help bacteria growth fast. Most effective ways to make sure beneficial bacteria exist in your fish tank is by adding filter media. During nitrogen cycle your tank water may get a little cloudy - this is the case of Bacteria Bloom. You can add start up bacteria booster product to initial start up.

Little Tricks needed for your planted setup? Well , yes its needed. and Why So? Because aqua soil emits lots of ammonia for first few days. your plants will melted soon and there will be a algae rise if u can't control the ammonia. Now setup the base first with soil .do exact sloping or layer u wanted as your desire Scaping . Now decorate with washed rock & seasoned driftwood ( depends on your Scaping). Full the tank with low TDS soft water ( as u going for a planted setup). Start up the Filtration system and maintain 6-7 hours of light period ( to encourage bacteria growth). After 10-12 days check the Ammonia , Nitrate , Nitrite parameter . If all are ok remove 70-80 Percentage of water do the final Scaping add plants ( Remember always the more dense plant u able to add initially there will be lesser chances of algae rise). lets start if u have Pressurized or DIY CO2 system from very first day of planting.

Summary - Just what u have to do to start a Freshwater Aquarium

§ Check Properly there is no leakage in Aquarium.

§ Check properly there is no smell of silicon glue.

§ Fill the tank with water & remove it after 4-5 days.

§ Finally set the Aquarium on a stable Rack / Table/Slab.

§ Put a Thermocol sheet bottom of the Aquarium.

§ U need a plug point of at least 3 plug & switch system . Or u can use extension cord.

§ Wash all the Scaping  things, filter, media etc. by normal water.

§ Decorate the aquarium properly. Fill with water.(can check pH & TDS)

§ Start all filtration system. Put the light Off for initial 7-8 days.

§ Add some fish food & Startup bacteria booster to start the bacteria colony.

§ Set the Temperature at 85F-90F( Use Thermostat if required)

§ After a months remove 70% of water add some plants. Give a stable light of 6-7 hours ( can set according your plant demand)

§ After 15 days u can add some fishes.(check water parameter Ammonia/Nitrate after 5 days)

§ No overstocking of fish please.
