Origin – Brazil and Venezuela, in the lower Amazon basin in Para State and Orinoco River

Natural environment – mineral-deficient (soft), acidic, and frequently tainted with humic acid

Practical tank setup ideas – Fresh water planted , wood setup, paludarium setup. Medium water flow with lots of hiding space dense planted or Black water setup with lots of wood and leaves. Minimum tank size should be 2/1/1 ft for a group of 12

Water condition- Rummy nose should be kept in soft acidic (< 6° dh) water with a pH 5.5-7.0

Temperature- 24 °C to 31 °C

Size at maturity – 2 inch

Expected life span – 5-6 years

Tank mates – small sized tetras/other small rainbows/small corycats/rasboras/small danios

Food habits – live / frozen bloodworms, flakes, small / almost fine powdered dry foods/daphnia

Filtration system – HOB or canister according to tank size
