A deep green mid ground plant. With some regular trimming can be a good carpet type plants for foreground.

Origin - This species comes from South America

Care & Propagation - Aquatic Soil or DIY made aqua soil needed to survive. Moderate to high light needed for S.Repense ( 0.75-1.25 watt per litter). At moderate light and with CO2 system it will show lush greenish coloration. This is a slow growing aquatic plant. The leaves are thick small and spade shaped. S.Repense grows compactly and with sufficient light, CO2 & Nutrient can grow a thick bush carpet. Each steam can grow up few inches in height. Without CO2 system its possible to grow S.Repense in nutrient rich soil but growth rate will be very much slower. Propagate through stem cuttings.

High temperature (above 30c) can be issue for melting.

Cultivar of Rotala Routandifolia  Care & Propagation  - The best part about this plant is it can shows color and healthy growth under ordinary light too (0.5-0.75 watt per litter). Nutrient rich aqua soil and minimum to moderate CO2 needed for optimum growth and coloration. It can survive in non CO2 planted tank. In non CO2 planted aquarium it will shows slight greenish yellow coloration. Its a fast growing plants. Produces lots of stem cutting in CO2 induced tank. Can survive wide temperature range (16-28) degree C.
