Practical Fish Keeping
well we will discus here about 'domestic angelfish' they are the result of many decades of selective breeding. Minimum 3 ft. tank needed for a group of 8 pcs angel. They are social fishes , a group of minimum 5 pcs are recommended. You can setup a simple freshwater tank or a planted tank or a black water for angel fish. some hiding space needed for angels. You can provide that by some wood branches or by some plants. Angels have tendency to nip some plant leaves , so hard plants like Amazon Sword, Cryptocoryne green, java fern etc. are recommended. Angels can be aggressive to smaller fish like minnows , tetras , rasboras, so unless you have big enough aquarium tiny fishes are not recommended as tank mates. Also angels have some fin nipping tendency. Tank mates of angels? Though species only tanks are recommended but if you have large aquariums with proper setup variety of fish u can stock with angels, you can keep Discus , Danisoni Barb, Sarpe tetra, Congo tetra, Maskara Barb, Variety of loaches & Cory cats , Remirozi, Geophegus (min 4 ft. tank needed),
