Cyphotilapia Frontosa
The name is combination of the ancient Greek word "cypho" meaning Curved and tilapia which means fish in local dialect.

Practical Fish keeping
minimum tank size 5ft or larger for a small group. these are highly social fish. Frontosa are benefit from the addition of iodine for their thyroid, this can be accomplished by adding iodized table salt to the water. Tank should consist sandy or fine particle gravel substrate crushed coral/Black sand/aragonite can be used. They need both large open swimming spaces well as some big rock for hiding space. Although its a cold water fish Thermostat recommended at constant 26 c in winter season.
Filtration - sump/canister preferred . high aeration recommended
Tank mates
species only strongly recommended . though can be kept with large sized Haps. Plecostomus. Bichirs can be kept in large aquariums.
